Sandipan Dasgupta

With a training in genetics and biochemistry, I have to realize that we have developed tremendous levels of understanding in biology over the last couple of decades. Yet, the translation of this science into meaningful technology has been less than optimal. This presents us with an incredible opportunity to transform the food, agriculture, and health systems, armed with our evolving scientific literacy.

What I did before

Before joining Anterra, I spent most of my professional career at L.E.K. Consulting doing strategy and transaction advisory for life sciences and healthcare clients.

One technology theme that inspires me

Being a former RNA biologist, I am fascinated by the possibilities that can be unlocked by manipulating RNAs from all angles (e.g., knocking down RNAs by ASOs, introducing new RNAs by vaccines)

What motivates me

Working with passionate and smart people solving problems with promise to make a tangible impact

My book tip

For Blood and Money: Billionaires, Biotech, and the Quest for a Blockbuster Drug

My favorite recipe

Biryani

One bit of advice I would give to my 20-year-old self

There is not a right or wrong decision. Each comes with its own considerations.
